Yahshua, The Way To Life

Yahshua

(The real name of Jesus)

THE WAY TO LIFE

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ”

(John chapter 14, verse 6)

“For God so loved the world

that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him

shall not perish

but have eternal life.”

(John chapter 3, verse 16)

WHY?

Can you understand it?

HUNGRY & THIRSTY?

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.” (Isaiah 55:1 & 2).

Yahshua declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty…” (John 6:35).

TIRED?

Yahshua also said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28 – 30).

AFRAID?

(Yahshua said) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27).

FRIENDLESS?

Yahshua said, “surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Based on Matthew 28:20).

SINNER?

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Messiah died for us. (Based on Romans 5:8).

WHAT IS SIN?  – (Sin is wrong, and it separates us from God)

Whoever commits a sin, also breaks the law, for sin is the breaking of the law. (Based on 1 John 3:4).

WHAT IS THE LAW? – (IN PART – THE 10 COMMANDMENTS)

And God spoke all these words:

“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before me.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

“Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.

“You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.” (Exodus 20:1 – 17.  The first five books of the bible, Genesis through to Deuteronomy, provide a detailed account of The Law, reasons for its implementation and its effects.  Also read, ‘THE RELEVANCE OF THE LAW‘, a separate leaflet which examines the law).

REPENT!

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. (Isaiah 55:6 & 7).

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Messiah Yahshua our Lord. (Romans 6:23). (Also see ‘Judgement and Heaven’ scripture references overleaf).

“The time has come,” [John] said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15).

FORGIVENESS!

Yahshua went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Yahshua, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women (note Deuteronomy 22:22). Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Yahshua bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Yahshua was left, with the woman still standing there. Yahshua straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Yahshua declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:1 – 11).

THE GOOD NEWS! – THE GOSPEL IN A NUTSHELL

Yahshua answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit (i.e. baptised, see Matthew chapter 3 note verses 13-15). Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

[…]

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” (Based on John 3:5 – 8, & 16 – 21).

YAHSHUA’S LOVE – STRONGER THAN THE LAW

For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature (our natural desire to sin), God did by sending his own Son (Yahshua Messiah) in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering (see Matthew chapter 27, & Hebrews chapter 10). And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:3 & 4).

[…] This righteousness from God comes through faith in Yahshua Messiah to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Messiah Yahshua. (Romans 3:22 – 24).

THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

[…] The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Messiah Yahshua have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Based on Galatians 5:22 – 26).

THE FULFILMENT OF THE LAW

The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of the law. (Romans 13:9 & 10).

THE BEATITUDES

Yahshua also said: –

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:1 – 12).

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Yahshua our Lord. (2 Peter chapter 1, verse 2).
